The rooster that woke us up every morning at 6:00 am during our vacation...my parents later told us that he met his demise via coyote (too bad it wasn't sooner)

Miracles and vacation...

My husband is a miracle worker and my laptop is up and running again (for now and hopefully long term).  I am not missing any pictures or irreplaceable things like that (I don't think) but I am still missing some of my programs as I try to recover things that I used frequently and forget those that I didn't.

Anyway back in the running but no photo editing software right now (for watermarks and such) and going on vacation in a week.  So I think I will be taking a break from my goal.  Sad.

I plan to re-boot it though once I get everything on the mend and going again.  But thinking that fall (October) may be a good time to refocus my efforts.  There will still be occasional post in the meantime.  And hopefully lots of reading up and research on D-SLR and lenses and all of the good wonderful stuff.

Temporary or long absence

My laptop has bit it for now. I had a legal version of windows vista and hated it so went back to XP (a little less legal). Then being the genius that I am ran a virus scan that removed a patch to make this work. So my computer doesn't work and hubby's has no internet right now. So let's just say the goal is on hold. Forgive me cruel world :(

Sunday

Lazy Sunday afternoon laying out on the lawn with nothing to do but enjoy the day.

Nothing original but I like sun flare pictures for some reason.

What stage are my kids in?  That's right...the drooling stage!  (I'm not up and up on my goal but I'm still trying which is what counts...at least that's what my mom taught me growing up)

My August 1st pictures (I know I'm going in reverse a little).  My husband sent me flowers while he was out of town for a job training so I decided to practice some aperture fun on this.  First one is the original color with very little adjustment and the second is with a ____ aperture.

This is my picture for August 2nd.  I was playing around with the ISO and aperture and manual focus.  Perhaps it wasn't such a great idea to play with so many at once.  I can see the big problems all over now with it enlarged...mostly the focus is driving me wonky.  Oh well...at least I'm learning (I hope).

Playing my game...

I'm playing my game.  I am meeting my challenge.  So far.  The only thing is that I haven't figured out how to post the pictures the way I want to.  But I do have pictures from today and the day before.  I promise.  I'll be sharing soon.  They are definitely so mediocre and boring but I've just been playing with my ISO and F-stop (are those even the right terms) and other little things on my camera that I so rarely even touch.  New goal...in addition to my 30 day one...learn, read and research my camera and what it can do and how all of these things effect the picture.  Also figure out the best way to get pictures on Blogger.  Amen and goodnight.

Reviving A Dream

During my children's nap time this morning I found myself updating blogs and perusing new and old blogs to follow (and stop following).  I stumbled upon one that really inspired me as far as photography goes.  I found myself wanting to rededicate time and effort into pictures and developing my passion and/or talent for pictures further.  As an introduction into this idea I am going to complete a 30-day challenge of pictures...taking a picture for each day over a month.  Hopefully something that inspires me but I'm fine with cutesy or memorable too.  This will be my August and I hope it's an incredible experiment.
